Join the New Campaign to Restore Jackson State Redwood Forest

The original Campaign ended in 2011, after the Board of Forestry gutted the unanimous recommendations of the Jackson Advisory Group to protect important forest values.

The original Campaign halted logging from 2000 to 2009 and forced restrictions that reduced the logging rate to one-half or less of what it would have been absent the work of the Campaign. This was no small achievement, but the Board of Forestry  gave CDF near complete freedom to continue their destructive logging practices without concern for forest health, biodiversity, carbon storage, recreation, Tribal rights, or spiritual nourishment.

CDF is now after the few remaining stands of undisturbed second growth, areas frequented for recreation, and stands that they've already logged in the last 20 years.

A New Campaign has arisen, a coalition of young, old, and indigenous, people from all walks of life. The Coalition to Save Jackson Forest is determined to change management from industrial logging to preservation.
